In a stirring display of skill, speed and sporting grit, Team India has qualified for the Tent Pegging World Cup Championships, scheduled to be held in Jordan in November 2026, after an outstanding performance against some of the world’s strongest equestrian nations.The Indian contingent was led by its Coach-cum-Manager, Col Tarsem Singh Warraich, an internationally acclaimed rider and polo player, whose leadership and strategic acumen played a decisive role in this historic achievement. Under his guidance, Team India not only held its own but excelled against formidable opponents such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Norway and Indonesia, emerging with a record haul of four team medals and two individual medals during the qualification event.

Speaking to the media after the triumph, an elated Col Warraich said, “The hard work put in by the entire team has paid handsomely. Our young tent peggers fought like ferocious cheetahs on the field. They have made me and the nation proud. The feeling is just sinking in.” His words reflected both pride and emotion as India secured its place on the global stage.

On 29 January 2026, in the Lance Event, Team India clinched the Silver Medal, while Dfr Dhanraj Sirsat of the Remount and Veterinary Corps (RVC) added to the tally by winning the Individual Bronze Medal.The momentum continued on 30 January 2026 during the Sword Event, where Team India delivered a commanding performance to win the Team Gold Medal. Dfr Dhanraj Sirsat once again showcased his prowess, securing the Individual Silver Medal.On 31 January 2026, Team India demonstrated remarkable all-round strength by winning Team Bronze Medals in Lemon & Pegs, Rings & Pegs, and Relay events. These performances culminated in an Overall Team Bronze for the multi-discipline event, sealing India’s qualification for the World Cup Finals
